ACID

Atomicity
- if any part of a Transaction fails, the entire transactions is rolled back
Consistency
- Transactions only make changes that are valid and adhere to predefined constraints
Isolation
- Concurrent transactions don't interfere with each other.
Durability
- Once a transaction is committed, the changes are stored permanently and will survive crashes/outages etc
